... I have my first horse arriving to me on saturday :-D nervous... but looking forward to spending time and getting to know her!!!! I've worked so hard to buy her and I know all the hours will have been worth it.

It just hit me all of a sudden sitting here

Congratulations!

I'm sure you will enjoy your new horse immensley - all the better when you have had to work hard to get your reward.

Have a lovely day on saturday.

Yay how exciting. I'm another who hopes to be posting this one day. I love my share to bits, but it must feel so good to finally have a horse to call your own. Have loads of fun with her, and don't forget the piccies!

Awww thanks everyone!

She's a 5 year old bright bay ex-racer 15.3(before people take a deep gasp of concern, My first loan was an ex-racer and I have TB experience :-D ) She's originally from ireland where she raced, but she wasn't too good, she did win one, got a second and one third, but the rest were pretty poor.

I have also (in possibly a fit of excitement) written down her family tree, which i traced right back including a horse called Thong...

Dam: Turtlena (by Turtle Island)
Sire: Elnadim (By Danzig)

P.S. T_G I might just do that to have a blast in those fields!! haha

Hey!

How exciting!

I talked about nothing but getting my first horse when I got back into riding a couple of years ago and I think my OH was finally thinking of getting some peace when I finally brought one, of course now I talk about nothing but my mare.. lol but you are going to have so much fun.

What are you hoping to do with her?

Goodluck and please remember to post tonnes of pictures on here and let us know how you get on.

I think i've run my family dry with all my horsey talk already, little do they know it'll get worse haha.

I'd like to eventually do some BS or BE, she has an amazing temperament for her age, but i don't wanna take advantage of her willing nature, she also has a beautiful canter i think she may *shock horror* make me enjoy dressage!!! Mostly, like all of you, I just wanna love her and enjoy her and have as much fun with her as I possibly can, and of course spoil her rotton!!!

There will be a barrage of photos, you'll all wish you never asked... haha

:-)

xxxx

Thank you all again for lovely comments :-)
