still foot sore

So my mare lost a shoe on friday and then the other one on sunday. She had a stone in her hoof and it bruised it slightly. Farrier came on monday and did a full new set. She was a bit foot sore on tuesday (i expected it). Tonight she came in and looks sound in walk, got mum to trot her up and shes still lame in trot. Wondering if i should get the vet out or not.

I would give them a call for advice. Can never be too careful with feet. Hope your horse is ok xx

My gelding has a similar problem. I have only had him for a month, and he has been poorly shod in the past. He managed to get a huge stone wedged between his frog and his shoe which i only just managed to prise out.
Since then he has been lame.
My farrier was out on Tuesday and fitted him a new set of shoes, and tested for bruised sole....but didnt find any specificly sore areas
Its been over a week since i removed the stone, and together with the new set of shoes, there has been a significant improvement.....but still slightly lame in trot, though fine n walk.
My previous horse had a bruised sole last year, and was lame for over 3 weeks with it.....so am wondering whether this episode will last a similar length of time.
