After the sad loss of our old GSD last month, we are still looking for an older dog to keep our bitch company, just wondered if anybody knows of a dog in need of a home?

Not having much luck with the rescue societies as we work, so most of them won’t even consider us. Also, fencing seems to be an issue - have 7 acres, kind of expensive to put 5' fencing all the way round that!

Ideally looking for a male dog, 6 to 10 years old, and preferably a large dog, GSD or cross would be ideal but we’re happy to consider any breed, age etc. The most important thing really is that it gets on with our bitch who has been very subdued since her brother died.

Please let me know if you know of anything suitable.

Have you tried speaking to Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue? I found them to be really good and as long as the dog was capable of being alone they didn't care that I worked :)

they have more dogs in kennels/fosters than they have on the website btw :-)

Also Once Loved Dog Rescue is local too - theyre on facebook and they also take a more relaxed approach to working homes as long as the dog is suitable :)
