Does anyone else still need to do late night checks/feeds tonight and not want to go put 20 layers on to then trudge in the snow?

I know i'll be fine once I get going and see their faces, just not so keen on getting off the sofa! The one bonus of the snow is you don't need a torch, well i didn't earlier when I saw them at 7.

BRRRRRRR the joys of having horses! Wouldn't change it for the world, I just need some encouragement tonight.

Just been out to do my lad, I must be lucky as I only ever go out in my PJ's with a coat over the top and I don't seem to feel the cold :p

Thank K - that was just the push I needed! 6 happy faces, all with full warm bellies. It's warmer outside tonight than the weekend, just a bit wet and mushy now, which can't be much fun for them, especially tomorrow when it will be all icy.

Nope, make that 7 happy faces, I enjoyed it too! My old boy gets sneaked a few extra conditioning cubes and tonight had a juicy braeburn apple, which we managed to hide from all the others! He so knows to keep quiet! Then he got shoved off his bucket by one of the others, and came to find me by the trough to say ummm mum, can you help! Bless.

Now I might go find that sloe gin jacket, before I get into my cold bed! x

It is the initial thought isn't it? But once you are out it is fine. We are often up to ours at 5am, if the moon is out and in the covering of snow it really is like daylight I keep my torch lit on my head though for the tackroom in case of hairy rodents. Tonight it was dull and freezing fog so had to keep the headlight on.
