Still on the 'Critical' List

Only 16 Cleveland Bay Fillies born in the UK this year. A Rare Breed on the Critcal List sad really as SSM says 'every one should have one.'

Here is one of mine born in March and a filly.

Blimey only 16 this year, that is low.
Our native breeds are on the whole becoming more rare.
I would love to one day breed dales perhaps as i think they are stunning and ofcourse rare, so they need breeding!

OMG....I know they are very rare but jesus that is so low...i'd love to have another CB...but maybe by the time I come to get a new one they will have dissapeared altogether? which will be extreamly sad

I didn't realise there were so few - don't they use them in one of the army regiments?

What a shame it isn't helping to preserve the breed.

She is gorgeous, really sweet face.

Had no idea just how low the figures are, that's shocking. They always look so proud- they are very 'english' looking i think, like they should be sat by the fire drinking earl grey tea

Would love one, as much as i love my prancy arabs i do love a big strong hunter type too. Maybe one day...

Oh i know that feeling all too well....OH said I can get one just after xmas....so I can start the hunt for this breed if I am lucky enough....hope so!!!!

Hadn't realised there are so few CBs left, your girl is gorgeous.

Trying to do our bit for rare breeds our fell mare had a filly foal this year and a good friends highland mare had a filly as well.
