Our whole yard is still out 24/7 (except 2 show ponies who are never out 24/7!)!
Some of the 'unriddens' have just started to receive a bit of sugarbeet and chaff but nobody is even putting hay out at the moment.
In previous year's, we've usually been in at night by the first week of October, as the fields have got wet, with hay going out during September as well as the horses getting 2 feeds per day.
Markie is still naked during the day (he's clipped as well) and only in a lightweight overnight. Still on his 'summer' feed regime too. When he comes in, he's not overly interested in his hay so it's obvious there's still plenty of grass.
The fields are bone dry, unless we get a monsoon, or snow, I reckon we're going to get at least another fortnight out. As well as time, the monetary saving from previous years will be at least £50, woohoo!
