Im still trying to sell one of my mares, but im not having much luck. Its so frustrating!!

Does anyone have any advice? Are there any good websites to advertise on etc?? I had an ad in H&H and didn't really get much response (sorry Admin but its true!!)....and all the people ive had to come and see her haven't been suitable for my girl (i am still angry about the novice that almost injured her!)

To top it off, yesterday i got a phone call from a lady who was interested, but only if i would drop the price by £1000!!

I think it was mighty cheeky of her, and a bit silly considering she hadn't even been to see my horse yet!

Anyway, im at the end of my rope.....i need help!!

The only horse i have ever sold was last year. I sold her through Horsequest, and i've got to say i had loads of interest and sold her quite quickly.
Good luck with selling your girl, i'm sure it is very frustrating!

Do a how much on here .We don't get many of those.LOL

Have you tried horsemart, horsequest and horsedeals?

Yeah ive tried horsemart which has been the most successful, horsequest was rubbish for me. Havent tried Horsedeals.

I dont really know why its so difficult, i dont think she is overpriced at all...and shes a lovely mare (though im bound to say that now aren't i?!).

I just keep getting people ring up that are totally wrong for her, ponyclub or first horse types. She isnt for a novice....but compeltey safe and sane.....

Urgh!!

Maybe your advert encouraged those type of people, who do you think she would suit

I dunno if im allowed to put this here, but this is the ad that ive been using:

15.2 hands, stunning grey mare, rising 10 years. Thoroughbred X. Currently jumping BSJA at British Novice and has done all RC activities, XC, dressage etc. She has many wins un-affiliated SJ and qualified second round trailblazers. forward going and not a novice ride, but always sensible, would suit small adult/competent teenager. Good to hack alone or in company, and easy to do in all ways – good to catch, box, clip, shoe etc. and is never mareish! Sad sale through no fault of her own.

She'd suit someone that could ride (LOL) that might want to do a bit of everything..... i just dont know where im going wrong!

She sounds lovely I think she would suit a pony club B test rider or riding club member for teams. You might be able to advertise in pc and rc newsletters so contact your local ones.

You have made it clear that not a novice ride so can't understand why people who are still call?? I first sat on a horse just over 3 years ago so would describe myself as still very much a novice so wouldn't call though she sounds fab.
Can't advise where the best place would be to sell her but good luck anyway

Don't bother with Horse Deals, all gloss not much response IMO and then you can't get rid of them, they ring me nearly once a week to see if I want to place an advert - I am seriously thinking of taking out a restraining order against them!

Sorry to hear that. Fox got my cockerel yesterday but luckily spat him out when the lurcher got the fox. Percy lives to crow another day - I hope, he's still under the heat lamp.

And Feta, mare sounds lovely...well, shes grey, the only sort! How much are you asking for her? If you don't mind saying?

Clodagh - Im asking £3500... i think shes worth a little more but i already have another and need her to go now!! Plus she's not a ride that just anyone could handle, she's forwards going....but at the same time, she is sensible with it. Shes not a nutcase!!

I was hoping to get a quick sale at that price, but it just hasn't gone right for me. What do you think to the price?

Think the price and the ad sounds spot on - sounds like a lovely mare & a pretty honest ad....

Thanks....thats what i thought! Maybe i just have rotten luck. Its a shame because she is a lovely girl and deserves a nice new home.
