Stinky dog house

I mop floors with the pet safe Zooflora and vacuum/brush a couple of times a week. I'm in a rental property so dogs are restricted to two rooms.
Feeding and bathing/grooming also has an impact on how much a dog smells.
 
Washable throws on the sofas the dogs use as beds, washable dirt mats in doorways, hard flooring throughout the house. Normal hoovering and floor washing are all that is needed with this set-up.
 
Tell me.about zoflora.

Can you use it diluted as floor cleaner on wood floors? Would you wash bedding in it or would it be harmful for the washing machine?
 
Hard floors here. Dog (Labrador) is bathed once a month or so, dog bedding is washed weekly or bi-weekly (there's one bed she doesn't use so much). Dog can go on the couch but only on top of a blanket, which is also washed weekly.

Hard floors are steam mopped twice a week, and vacuumed daily by myself and/or the robot. The robot can vacuum and mop.

Diet might help too. She's just on a sensitive lamb and rice food though, which is fairly simple and worked better for her than other more expensive or "better" foods.

I do mop with a mop and bucket from time to time. I also use hygiene detergent sometimes.
 
I fanatically wash dog beds. In non bio. Generally I try to be chemical free or as low as possible. I put rosemary or lavender sprigs in the Henry bag.
 
I am dog-less at the moment (although considering a Pomeranian/Yorkie/JRT cross for my sins) but when I did, I mopped floors with Zoflora, had cheap fleece blankets on the sofa which were easily washed and bathed them and groomed them regularly.

If you can tile/hard floor your hallway, that really helps because when you bring them in from a walk, it is easy to clean the floor compared to carpet. Also, wash your doormats because they trap the smell.

At the risk of sounding like Mrs Hinch, you can also spritz a bit of diluted Zoflora onto your soft furnishings.

I mix zooflora pet odour with fairy liquid for doing floors including wood nothing awful has happened yet .
I add dettol into the horse and dog stuff washer it’s still going after over ten years .
 
My doors are always open (unless the weather is particularly bad) so have plenty of fresh air circulating through. I hoover daily, mop (also with zoflora) a few times a week and I also use diluted zoflora to wipe down walls and in the washing machine with the vet beds. I use Hi-K9 dog beds which don't seem to soak up dog smells like some of the soft beds and groom/blast my dogs a couple of times a week.
 
The advantage of having a breed with less evident dog smell. Only occasionally when I decide to wash a dog blanket/rug which maybe has been used for a few months (I try to keep their blankets/rugs clean by brushing them with a clothes brush, hoover, hang them outdoors for awhile etc, for as long as possible), might I be able to detect any dog smell on the blanket/rug, and then my nose usually has to be quite close to the blanket/rug for me to find any smell.

I remember that I was always surprised when it rained, or I had bathed the crossbreed, and Smooth Collie, which I owned years ago, because they had a much more noticeable wet dog smell than the 2 Norwegian Buhunds, which I also had back then.
The crossbreed which was mostly shorthaired (if that is what made the difference or not I don't know), smelled a bit more wet dog when wet, than the Smooth Collie.

The current Finnish Lapphunds are like the Buhunds, even when really wet they only smell a little wet dog. All three of them together still smells less than the Smooth Collie did when wet.
