I really sweat through my head and my everyday riding hat is now awful. I hang it to dry between riding but even so, the smell eminating from it now is vertually indescribable. Been looking at hat deodorisers but wondered which is recommended.

Been looking on eBay just now. What's the Charles Owen spray like? Or Red Rum Hat and Boot Deodoriser? I am going to need something INDUSTRIAL!!! :D

Or is there anything else better? The antibacterial Febreze maybe?

Definitely clean it first, deodorising on the top will simply create a god awful smell with a hint of petunias! Then maybe look up what the bowling alleys use on the dreaded communal shoes??? :D

Okey doke. Baby shampoo it is then. Then I'll buy a bottle of Febreze. The hat's ventilated and not old. I just suffer very baldly from scalp sweat. :o

baby shampoo then I use dry shampoo because it takes all the moisture away, get the one for dark hair though if your hat is black!

My hat is the same! Makes my hair smell awful after.
I bought some foamy spray from a local saddlers which seems to work, sort of. But hat is a few years old now anyway so am investing in a more airy one with removable liners which will hopefully cure issue!

Which sort have removeable liners? I might take a look myself.

Same problem here OP, I use fabreze but it hasnt really helped. Pong whiffy

I have a vented hat on order as hope this will ease the problem, thought judging from what OP has said it hasn't made any difference for her.

Nope, vented hats don't seem to help. I think I'm getting desperate enough to try a panty liner inside my hat tomorrow. I'm willing to give ANYTHING a try if it might help the sweating problem. :D

Well I am getting the casco mistrall plus but just realised it doesn't have removable liners but says it has special cooling and wicking fabric inside so damp can escape through vents so will be interesting to see if it works.

The uvex hats have removable liners I think.

Okay, thanks. I'll check them out.

OP please be careful using panty liners.
I'll always remember a past thread where an HHO'er described removing their hat infront of a rather dashing instructor and having a panty liner stuck on their forehead!
