Stinky rug boy

My gorgeous creature is getting a very smelly rug. He poos at the back of his stable very neatly and then spends the night curled up on his poo.

Any suggestions that don't involve him sleeping in a turnout.

ahhh, well i was going to suggest popping a lightweight turnout rug over his stable rug as a 'protective' layer... I always end up with a lightweight rug that loses its waterproofness...

ooh duh hadnt thought of putting a lightweight over it. It was beautiful now its really smelly.

Bloomin boys! I've always had mares in the past, my new gelding is a mud monster (he's out 24/7) and seems to take great pleasure in rolling in the most disgusting area of the field i can find!

Oh I have one of these, yukky beggar. I have two lightweight stables and just alternate them and wash them more regularly. When he needs heavier rug on I put a liner underneath, then its only in the really cold weather he has a heavyweight on. I tried the lightweight outdoor over the top but found it tried to slip a lot on my shiny type stable rugs so was often pulling, and also that got disgusting and I couldn't cope with it so ended up washing that regularly , so might as well wash a stable rug!
