stirrup leathers

I need to buy some new leathers. I'm fed up of having yards of leather left and having to punch additional holes, in the last set I purchased. I'm not at home to measure them, does anyone know off hand what length a person with a 30" leg would need. I've seen 48" and 56", but wonder if the small ones are for children.

I'm 5ft 4" and have both 48" and 54" leathers. The 48" are fab, but mean people with longer legs cannot ride in my saddle without feeling a bit short!!

Hmm think I might go for the 48's then as I'm sure the last pair were 54's and they just get on my nerves. Thanx

they are made long so that you can get the buckle re-done every so often and then they wear(where the stirrup is) in a different place.

Piffle - its cheaper to buy a new pair these days than to get the buckle moved!!

Buy a decent bonded pair, they will never stretch and shouldn't wear out easily.

I have the same issues! I use Stubben kids ones, think they are 48" and come in about four colours.

Hi, I have some that are about 54", but there is not enough to tuck them into the little bits that keep them out of the way so I have just ordered a 60" pair so as I can tuck the extra bits out of the way. I am fed up of the extra bits under my leg, as there are 3 layers of leather!
I am 5`9" with 31" leg and I ride in a jump saddle and a dressage saddle. I have ordered the longer ones for the dressage saddle. I hope this helps in some way.
