Has anyone used one of the stirrup mounts you can get, the sort that fit through the stirrup so it's lower down to get on?
Do they help or are they just as good as making your stirrup leather longer?
The other day when I was hacking with a friend we were riding along a bridlepath through a wooded area and a tree had fallen down on the path and the only way around was to walk between some very narrow trees and we had to get off as we wouldn't be able to ride through as some of the branchese were very low!
I was then bu**ered as I can't get back on so had to carry on down the track to a little humped back bridge which has those sticky up rocks along the top covered in moss so I landed on my arse a few times before managing to climb back on using the bridge as a mounting block. I could of really done with one of those stirrup mounts then!
Sorry for the essay
