I'm after some new stirrups and I just wondered what make people would recommend. I like the Jump 25 offset stirrups from Equiman as they are lightweight and have a wide base and I wondered if anyone else uses them for hacking etc use rather than just showjumping (I don't showjump!). I'm basically looking for ones's that are comfortable to ride in and safe.

Thanks

The sprenger bow balance - they help your position but are also really good if you have week joints as they seem to reduce pressure

I also have the Sprengers with bendy sides, called System 4 I think - wouldn't like to go back to non-bendy now, they really do give your joints a bit of cushioning! They are expensive but you can pick them up secondhand on ebay. Don't get the cheaper make bendy ones, I think there's a danger they could break which could be disastrous.

I have hypermobility syndrome and dysplatic joints and swear by my sprenger bowbalance stirrups.
They have a nice wide tread and put your legs in a good position and stop your joints from jarring. They are competition legal in every disipline. Certainly well worth the money.
As wimble has said, dont get imitations as they dont bend as much.

I have hypermobility syndrome, unfortunately I have it in every joint imaginable. I also use sperenger stirrups, they are the best thing ever, I have much less pain in my knees and ankles when riding. They have also helped strengthen my floppy ankles and I now find it much easier to keep my right stirrup in canter, something I have struggles with for 15 years!

I've got Sprengers, the original black bendy ones and they really are fantastic. I've had problems with my knees and also ligament damage in my ankle which makes riding harder but since using the Sprengers I've noticed my knees and ankles aren't as stiff.

For the past couple of months I haven't used them and am definitely feeling it, my ankles are sore and knees very stiff

Time to dig them out and put them on saddle

I have hypermobile feet and ankles (I fall over a lot because I lose my balance). I owuld not be without my Sprenger system 4's. They are worth it.
