Stirrup size?

can anyone remind me how you can tell what size of stirrup irons you shoud use?

Eg. I am a size 5 shoe, but sometimes a 6 in boots due to a very high in-step.

If I remember correctly from my Pony Club days its a fingers width each side of the widest part of your foot. Easiest way to do it is measure across the width of your foot (where stirup sits) and add an inch!

I think i'm a 4.75......problem is, when you wear chunkier boots for hacking in this cold weather....they feel a bit too snug!

i have the other problem my feet are always slipping out as my stirrups are huge

i thought mine were 5" and ive got size 7 feet, and my mucker boots are quite wide

Just lie a tape measure out on the floor & step on it. Allow about a half inch either side & take a measurement.
