Hi all

I have an appointment booked with the saddle fitter to hopefully get Rory a dressage saddle ?

My plan is to use my current diamante (non safety) stirrups on the dressage saddle, and get a new pair for my gp which will be used for fun rides, showing and I've just started working towards jumping with him ( he currently has no concept of why his hooves would need to leave the ground unless it's him bucking when he has a tantrum ?)

Any recommendations for safety stirrups that look traditional enough for showing, but are nice and grippy and will help keep my lower leg stable.

Nothing that will break the bank. I need to save my pennies for my new saddle.
I'm currently thinking the Arena Alupro are the best option but am I missing another option?

Any recommendations?

PS - not Peacocks ?

The only safety stirrups you can get away with in showing are the bent leg ones or peacocks for children.

Do judges really mark you down for having safety stirrups? Starting to remember why I don't go showing very often ?
Showing is traditional and whilst the judges can't actively mark you down for weird and wacky tack, they will ask themselves why you feel the need for the safety stirrups, is the horse dangerous? bad mannered? barely keeping a lid on the explosion?
Most safety stirrups are also large bulky plastic things that draw the eye.
