Stirrups for wide feet

My husband rides in bent leg stirrups but is complaining about aching ankles. I had the same problem but after switching to sprenger bow balance stirrups all is sorted. I would like to find some stirrups to help my husband but struggling to find stirrups (other than traditional or bent leg) that are wide enough to safely fit.

His foot measures just over 5 inches wide so really looking for 6 inch stirrup. Where width is listed I cant find any wide enough and for lots of other types, there are no measurements given/ they are one size.

I suspect that there may not be that many people with this issue as its a product of having huge size 15 feet but I wondered if anyone has come across any particularly wide stirrups?

I thought the Sprengers come in a huge size. I used to have some.

Unfortunately 5.1/8 inch is the biggest Sprengers go.. according to their own website

^^ I've got the 5 1/8" sprenger bow balances and it's a pretty cosy fit to get my size 9 clodhoppers + boots into them.

I've looked out for wider stirrups without success. What do most blokes use, or do they jam their feet unsafely into too narrow stirrups?
