Currently have Acavello Arena safety stirrups but even though the treads are wide cheese grater style, weirdly my feet slip through (I don't consider myself novice, riding 40 years, now reached the dizzy heights of medium level ?) What worries me is sometimes they slip through and get jammed and I cant shake my feet back into position without shaking my feet really hard. I feel like a riding school learner sometimes. So, looking at the new Le Mieux safety stirrups which look similar to FlexOn stirrups, I'm wondering about the spikes. I feel (apart from improving my leg position and putting more weight into my feet) I need more grippy stirrups, but then I wonder how dangerous that would be if me feet slip through and get really stuck? Any thoughts?
