I've been looking at new stirrups for my daughter and was looking at getting the peacock safety stirrups but they seem to have alot of bad reviews for children's feet getting stuck in them. What stirrups would people recommend?

Peacock stirrups are only effective up to a certain weight - and there have been concerns about injuries to children from the loop edge if they get caught up. In fact there is one such on the H&H news page this morning. Personally I don't like them for children. From Pony Club experience I see more issues from peacocks than other types - but I do know that others have the opposite experience.

For me a correctly fitting set of bent leg stirrups are fine for children. If you can afford them a good quality chain based release stirrup like the Sprengers is better - but they are expensive. Don't buy the cheaper chain based ones as the chain inside will rust and the stirrup break unexpectedly.
