According to Charles Carol of Radio 4 this morning 01.04.2012) (7.30 a.m.) there is such a demand for donkeys for Palm Sunday church services that a number of donkeys are stolen each year for Palm Sunday services. However in thepast they have been returned (normally well groomed) within a few days. However Lamas are taking over as they are easier to train. (Many are supplied by an agency in Ashdown Forest). The use of donkeys goes back to the book of Zacarus where it was stated that the new mesia would arrive being lead on a donkey.

I text this to my sister telling her to keep an extra eye on her donkey. She actually believed me :) HAHAHA
