Stolen Horsebox Update

Well as post the other day my lorry and tack were stolen on the 21.06.10

Today had a phone call from the police to say Lorry was found yesterday so as you can imagine I was happy happy happy :)

Then the told me its been burnt out :( :( :(

Im so so so fed up and sad I doubt I will ever find another lorry as that one took months to find and and to travel to Yorkshire to get it

Why are people so nasty??
 
Because they are scum and have no respect for other peoples property which is why they steal in the first place then they burn it out to save there own skin.

Hope you get something sorted soon, i know i would be lost without my lorry.
 
I just can't believe it. It's sickening.

I'm really sorry to hear it. Would you like me to do some horsebox shopping for you?!

Ahh thanks so much If you can have a look around that would be great BUT its going to be very hard to find as needs to be 1973 to comply with LEZ and would prefer another Bedford as so realiable.. and take 3 horses. So basically not an easy task :(

IM so sad :(

I hope so too I hope they spontaneously Combust!! Thieveing Scum.

Make sure you have your tack insured as thats the only blessing that mine was so hopefully will be able to replace that .. but it so much hassle and takes time for claim to be settled :(

Did they say where it was found?

I have to lug my tack everyday between home and the stables now, because we got done last year. I used to cycle to and from the yard a lot before that happened, but I have to take the car everyday now because I can't carry the saddle, and it's too risky to leave tack up there now.

The thieving b@rstards really mess peoples lives up.

could you not get a newer one and retrofit the filter thingy?

They didnt say where it was found just its at a breakers yard in Perivale :(

I cant afford a newer one I had a newer one but had to sell it as the filter costs around £5000 to fit to Bedofrds and its very hard to get apparently and the filter thing is only complys till next year I think :(

Yes .. good ol red ken and his LEZ he obviously did'nt want the proles driving older lorrys..
Anyway they need to be euro 4 after 2012 so thats about 2006 or newer so you are looking at 10k for just a chassis!! jeezz you would need a realy good reason for living inside the M25 good luck finding an oldie

If you want to find a nice old vehicle contact me as there is one of the largest commercial scrap yards close to me (Hertfordshire) that has loads of horse boxes in it.

Just an idea... is there anything to stop someone converting a modern lorry to fit an old petrol engine to comply with this stupid law perhaps fit a bedford petrol engine into a leyland daf45 ???
