PLEASE BE VIGILANT!!!!

9 ASSORTED COBS WERE STOLEN LAST NIGHT FROM CANNOCK IN STAFFORDSHIRE AND A FURTHER FIVE WERE STOLEN LAST NIGHT FROM LICHFIELD IN STAFFORDSHIRE.

Horsewatch have formally released details, as they think that these horses will be either shipped abroad or sold through Appleby Fair in a few weeks time.

They seem to be targetting coloureds, irish types and mares with foals at foot. They are more interested in coloureds than plain horses. Also tack is not safe to be left in tackrooms or sheds without proper security.

The RED landcruiser and White van, plus a blue VW have all been identified as being the perpetrators vehicles. They are the same eastern european men that Horsewatch have had reports of being sighted in Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Previously to that it was Kent and the home counties.

Please pass on any information to the police if you have any information relating to these thefts."

I know we're all worried but apparently the white van was also in Keighley last night where several horses have been stolen - please see the stolen forum. Has anyone ever gotten a straight answer from the police about these vehicles? Could there be many clones around the country?
 
thats terrible. the police dont seem to be doing as much as they can to put and end to all this theft

hi i have just contacted the police in staffordshire and there are no reported cases of any horse thefts in cannock or lichfield , there are reports of people taking pictures of horses , but none stolen and i am sure they would have been contacted if there where any thefts !!
 
do you know if horses were stolen from field or from stables? also if horses were stolen from field, if the field was padlocked? has anyone ever tried to take them during the day or ar they all at night?

sorry just worried about my horses..
 
none stolen at present in staffordshire according to police , if worried phone local police station and they will update you on sightings and thefts
 
hi it looks as tho this one at least is a false alarm. Scifi phoned the local police and they know of no horses being stolen afterall. All these posts no matter how well meaning are not doing any good at all so I suggest that no one posts anything that they cannot personally assure is the truth.
 
This info was apparently given out yesterday at Saddlers Riding Club show. Local police have no info but the message has gone round the Staffs Horsewatch ringaround system.
I have no other info sorry......didnt mean to alarm anyone!!!!

There have been no messages sent to me from Horse Watch regarding thefts of horses in these areas at all, and I am a Horse Watch Secretary. If I do hear of any CONFIRMED thefts i will post. I think it is mass hysteria as everyone has seen these vans, at least everyone is becoming more aware and on there toes, don't wait to become a victim, be proactive not reactive, join your local Horse Watch.
 
Oh Not Good , Im based in berkshire and everyone in pur area has just been warned by the police about 2 eastern europien guys in a red car and a white van , we've got the registration number. These to men have been apearing at local shows taking pictures of horses. There have also been sighting of them in yard fields taking pictures of horses.

Im so sorry to here that about the horses and i really do hope that they are found healthy. The best of wishes
