I've just had a confusing message from friend's teenage daughter so bear with me!

Their ponies were stolen (padlock cut) from the Pony Share Scheme in Welwyn Garden City, but have just been found at Redbourn Recreation grounds. They have all been caught, but the scheme only has one single trailer, my lorry is not working (completely dead battery) and my car is in the garage so I can't tow.

Anyone local that could help? I am sure they would reimburse diesel but don't think they have the funds for hiring a lorry (they are a charity).

Not sure I have all the facts right but thought someone on here might be able to help. I have a trailer if anyone wants to tow me there!!

I know the feeling - my car is in garage, my lorry battery dead as a dodo - nightmare!

There's 5 ponies apparently, including a non-loader (great!) but not sure they have been caught after all - apparently the police are there and other adults who know the ponies, but sounds like they are still trying to round some of them up.

Update at 6.10pm - ALL SORTED!

A horse transporter has been found and is taking the ponies back to their field.

It is now thought they had been stolen earlier from their own field and taken to a field in Redbourn, where they then escaped and got into the recreation grounds.

I'm sure we all share the same feelings about the scumbags that took them.

Good think it is all sorted - i was just about to offer my mum to come tow for you (sure she wouldnt have minded and has towed for years and is legal to tow!). Shes in Watford so if you ever have any other problems do just PM me

! As for the scum that stole them in the first place, as you said we all mutually share the same feeling

Ah that's kind of you - thanks! I'd found a friend with a lorry in Harpdenden, but just as I was about to set off to her yard, I got a call to say they had rung the transporter man who normally takes them places, and he just happened to be coming down the M1 and was only a few junctions away from Redbourn - fantastic coincidence.

Meanwhile, they are really worried that the scumbags will come again, so let's start chopping, I think
