Stolen Tack Update AGAIN! I got my helmet back!!

Just got a phone call from the farmer next door to me and he found my Charles Owen helmet thrown over the hedge in his allotment bit. I don't know what state my helmet is going to be in after being outside for a week but hopefully since it landed on his allotment bit, it had a soft landing.
I'm going to let it dry out and then clean it with my CO hat cleaner.

Now just need to see if I can find my bridle now! Maybe my friend's saddles were dumped nearby too.

It beggars belief though that these idiots would take the time to break into my tackroom, take my stuff and then dump it nearby???!!

Well good news on the hat, but I wouldn't be wearing it again! God knows what they did to it while it was out of your possession.
 
The police asked if there was anyone that had a grudge against me but I couldn't think of anyone as I get along with everyone on the lane where I am! I'm an easy going person and don't argue with anyone. I've never argued with anyone around where I am and it seems strange that my friend's three saddles went missing the same night on the same lane.

Besides, kids just "passing by" wouldn't be carrying around a crowbar trying to pry off the locks and hinges off my tack room door to get in. They used some strength to get in as the metal is all bent so it wouldn't be some 13 brat trying to get in. I'm 34 years old and wouldn't have the strength to do the damage they did but someone of my OH's build and strength would.

I reckon maybe they got spooked by someone coming down the lane and ditched the stuff in an attempt to get away clean handed. The allotment is literally 10 feet away from my gate so I don't think they would have had enough time to do anything to my helmet before chucking it over the hedge.

I sniffed it to make sure noone wee'd in it and it still smelled like the CO helmet cleaner I put on it two days before it went missing. Just to be sure, I wiped it down in antibacterial cleaner and doused it again and scrubbed it in CO cleaner (it's soaking in it now). I have to use it as I can't afford to buy a new one so wee or not, t's going on my head!
