Last year someone stolen two xc country jumps from our field, the field is next to a main road, so very easy for them to jump the gate and take them,
Last night while looking though Facebook, up pops for sale these two cross country jumps, I'm 99% sure they are the ones. But now I don't know what to do, we didn't tell the police when they were first stolen. So what would you do?

Do you have any photos of the jumps when you had them? If yes I would contact the seller and, if not to far away, say you would like to have a look at the jumps and ask them where they got them from. As for the police yes I would report it but as they only keen on dealing with easy crime like motorist don't expect any help.

I know this doesn't help now but all the x-country jumps in our field have aluminium plates rivited to them in a not very obvious place with YO's surname and D.O.B in case they are ever pinched, photo records of all jumps are taken at the beginning of every year. It's handy that the yard owners husband is an engraver but you can DIY with a dremel or punch set.

I would contact the police first and see what advice they offer as you don't want to start contacting the seller and raise suspicions if the police would be willing to help. Good luck I really hope you manage to get them back!
