Stomach Ulcers

Hi all,

Anyone got any experience of stomach ulcers in horses? Has your horse got them, or do you know any horse that has them? Just wanting to find our more info really as my horse is having a gastroscope tomorrow to check for ulcers!

I'm a bit curious to what symptoms people spotted in their horse before checking for ulcers because my vet was telling me there's no specific signs.

Anyone with a story/account please tell! thanks

Hi , if you click on search on the tool bar and put stomach ulcers in the drop down box you'll find 20 odd pages of stomach ulcer info . Good Luck !

Just bear in mind that a negative result from scoping isn't always negative - they can occur in the large intenstine (aka hind gut) where no endoscope can reach. This is useful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr05hMmLCY4

Yep - do a search on ulcers (don't bother with 'stomach', 'gastric' or 'hind gut' as you'll get all of them if you keep the search simple) and you'll find more posts and discussion than you can possibly wade through!
