Argh, this is driving me crazy! Ponios are eating my boy's mane and it's almost non-existent in one place, not good for a totally hairy traditional cob hoping to be showing this year!

I can't put hoods on him because they rub his mane out, I've sprayed him with cribstop to get them to stop and am using megatek stuff to strength it but it's still in tufts and can't tell if it's really making a difference :(

Suggestions please to stop the beasties would be greatly appreciated, will give anything ago though prefer not to gunk up his mane too much if possible. Also, do you get lightweight hoods at all? Wonder if this would stop the rubbing, ho hum

Cool lemonade and ice creams for all :D

Its a pain!Horse in our field has literally half a tail due to being eaten.Prob my and another girls youngster tbh.Owner never up so nothing put on.
We used to put chilli powder in tail to stop youngsters eating them.Never mind if tail/mane gets gunky at least you can wash it.

Yep, had a massive chunk of tail taken out at the end of last year too, luckily they've left that alone now though and it's slowly growing back. Chilli powder sounds interesting, he'll get a red mane hehe!
