If posting in triplicate makes you feel better then............... suggest you read the original post ( horses, sheep cattle) livestock intended for human and other consumption, as said by other posts above, breeding animals need to be exported. Where did zoo animals come in? Maybe you're just trying to make a point? Where do you stand on this, as I dont think you've said.

Sheesh, you do come across a happy charmer with a good heart. I agree, lets not try and find out what happened to the plane and lets not try and stop it happening again, that should make you even happier, or at least joyous in your miserable attitude.

And also, the people on the plane had a choice whether or not to use that form of transport knowing there was a small but all the same a risk, whereas the sheep didn't ..... or maybe we should support a campaign to stop sheep - or cows or horses buying tickets for cheap cross channel ferries - what do those sheep think they are up to?? (PS that last remark is tongue in cheek in case you don't have a sense of humour to go with your apparent lack of humanity).

As a livestock farmer I wish all animals could be humanely killed no halal or kosher in local abattoirs but this isn't possible but farmers do not export animals transporters do and uk have as tight a regulations as anywhere, we do not make a fortune do you know prices of lambs? What we need is more local abattoirs but this isn't going to happen.

Actually some farmers do transport their stock directly.

And I do know the price of lamb. I took out a second mortgage to buy some for the family last weekend.

And animals can be destroyed prior to export. All that's needed is for farmers to manage the end product, and a change of culture.

Well we don't receive your mortgage by time all others have taken a share, but can assure you whilst the lambs are in my ownership we do our best for them we spend many hours with them from conception lambing rearing them and then selling them, I can't dictate what happens next, many pet animals don't get treated any better.
