stop taking my stuff without asking!

Op my daughter is 7 & wouldn't dream of going in other peoples stuff. If she did don't think I'd be in a position to complain about a mousetrap. If they are that young tell their parents to sort it.

I hate it when people dont ask if they can use it then either return it broken or dont return it at all and you then never see it again. Nor do they offer to replace it.

Having had this happen to various whips these now stay in my car along with his boots and my lunge stuff etc.

Then there is the "borrowing" of feed and hay without asking

Agree with whoever locks their wheel barrow- mine is locked to a wooden pallet with a bicycle lock: I bought it for ME to use- no one else!

One of the things that annoyed me most was i bought a new fairly large bottle of de tangler and used a little bit- next time i went to use it a couple of days later- HALF THE BOTTLE HAD BEEN USED :mad::mad:

Unfortunately you can never prove who it is

I remember asking a girl if she's been 'borrowing' my hay, having seen her walking away from it with an armful  to be told to 'chillax, Ive run out, we all nick each others stuff whats the problem i'll give it back when i get some'...

firstly DONT TELL ME TO FRICKING CHILLAX

and, actually, no, we dont all 'nick each others stuff'. I figure out how much I need, and then buy that much. Which is kinda what I thought everyone did...

If feed or hay goes missing a worried comment of "gosh I wonder where that feed went? I'd put rat poison in it to use as bait" - not suggesting it's something you'd actually do but just say it and see who looks worried!

I really hope no-one borrows my grooming kit because if my horse gets a 'present', they're getting the vets bill.

people just don't seem to realise, do they?
buy your frickin' own!

Just a thought, you said your stuff is on the top shelf so are people rummaging around where they can't see properly what they are grabbing? In which case I have the solution. Find dead rat or similar & problem solved. The screaming that follows will also provide conclusive proof as to who the thief is.

Don't see why not, I had a very obliging cat who left me dead stuff everyday. As long as they don't knock poo over the rest of your stuff

A helpful child took the clean towels out of my kit box, used them on her washed pony, then put them back, buried in my stuff - WET! Cue - mould and mildew over my hat, gloves, various bits of leather kit.
My tie up, outside my stable was 'borrowed' and not returned

I moved on...

why should your YO be upset if someone stealing stuff from you knocks your Vimto or whatever all over themselves? They should be having words with the tealeaf IMO

I haven't named names because I'm not 100% sure.

I have been informed that this person was heard enquiring about 'borrowing' my stuff and they're were the only person in the arena (with said stuff) when I turned up yesterday.

anyways.. I've spoken to the girls as well as the Y0. They won't take any crap from the kids.

it's a shame that food colouring dries otherwise I'd have a great time smothering everything in it.

whoever mentioned that someone used all of their detangling spray - pop a few drops of food colouring in it and you should (assuming their horse isn't dark bay or black) find out who's taking it.
