My new horse is currently in quarantine with a youngster for the next two weeks, done a week of his time already. The youngster is giving my 10YO nasty bites all over and has since turned him into a purple skewbald. Any advice on stopping the youngster from nipping? Separating them is not an option unfortunately.:(

Only other horses can teach the little pest these kind of manners. If your horse is a pushover there's not much you can do. This youngster wants turning out with a couple of older mares, preferably ones that have had foals, to learn herd manners. I would guess that when he was weaned he was turned out with other delinquents of his own age, it happens a lot unfortunately.

I guess you're right *sigh* I hate seeing my lad getting pushed about by a teenager, was hoping for an easy fix... two weeks time cannot come fast enough!
