I am just moving to my own field :) after being a diy livery with tackroom facilities...

It is a secure location overlooked by the owners house, but wont be leaving anything valuable there anyway..

Just need some novel pony proof storage for grooming kit, chaff, buckets, first aid etc

Have a large field shelter I could use the corner of? But still needs to be pony proof!! 2 young inquisitive shetlands!!!

All ideas welcome...

Could you put a door across the corner of the field shelter and build shelves inside? Padlock on the door, bingo!

How about an old chest freezer, great storage does not need to wwork so i bet you could get onr for free, also because it it metal you could screw a clasp on there and padlock it too, easy to chain to the shelter to stop the little monkeys moving it.
Also good is the plastic garden storage chests or you can get ones that look like seats with storage inside, enough room for a rug, grooming kit and somewhere to sit.

Lovely ideas thanks..
I had in mind a cupboard as I am untidy so would prob just chuck everything into a chest...But the thought of having somewhere to sit appeals!!
It is a new corrugated metal shelter for some reason, so not sure I would be allowed to drill into it (only renting field)
On a limited budget so will look out for used garden chest probably...Thanks folks

I also have a large plastic cupboard it only has one shelf but i screwed a section of wardrobe canvas shelf into mine and that gives me extra shelf room, then a plastic storage crate for grooming kit and first aid. Also i did notice today that b and q have some 4tier plastic shelves on offer for twenty pounds. They are sturdy and tough.
