storage solution for numnahs

Right I have run out of space indoors and need to find a way to store all the excess numnahs and saddle pads I have accumulated in a shed. I need a water/vermin-proof solution for them. What do you use?
 
Large/deep clear plastic box with lid - and lots of chopped bamboo cane 'holders'.
Find a box with an internal lip (lots for around £5 - £9 in the cheap shops & supermarkets), get canes, cut to length so they sit on the lip from side to side.
Then hang numnahs/saddle cloths on - easy to see & get out too :)

Excellent idea; I may have to buy more numnahs to justify such an elegant storage solution (I'm real a storage geek....)

I was sorting through my garage the other day and was about to throw out a suitcase that had taken a beating on my last hols (thanks British Airways / baggage handlers) and had a light bulb moment - my unused rugs / numnahs are now neatly folded away ! Don't know how I didn't think of this ages and ages ago, would have save me a few pennies on plastic storage boxes etc :(
 
The council very kindly gave me 3 wheelie bins. I refuse to use as them as they are security hazard on more than one count but they are great for storing rugs and seasonal items in, safely locked away behind a high fence.

Will you come and sort the rest of my house out too! That is a genius idea!
 
Mine are all stored in a big old wooden chest, the kind you see used as vintage looking coffee tables. We use it as a seat in the tack room and throw all our bandages and show stuff in there too.

After a bit of a rookie internet shopping mistake (erm, not actually going through to the page that gave me the order number, therefore, hadn't actually bought it!!) I have now finally bought a plastic box big enough to store all my numnahs. It was the 160L plastic storage box on Asda click and collect and cost about £16 ish. The dimensions are approx 70cm high by 60cm wide by 50cm or so deep. Perfect. Numnahs now safely stored away! job done. Thanks for all the ideas.
 
Ooh fab snowstorm - thanks for that, thinking of buying one now. How many numnahs did you manage to fit in there? I'm wondering whether I'd need 2 or whether one would be ok...

Question - how exactly are wheelie bins a security hazard??? Genuinely curious!

If you put your bin out before you go to work, it's clear to everyone that you are out all day when it sits outside your house til you get home. Maybe that's what fatpiggy meant?

Ahhh I see. Sill don't understand myself though as even if you were at home all day you would still need to put your bins out for collection.

Anyway, that's enough non-horsey drivel (sorry, I work in the waste sector so was genuinely curious) love, love, love the bamboo idea! If only I was so organised..... ;)
