Just a quick note to Horse & Hound...
A friend of mine is a small time breeder from her own mares and her own 2 stallion.. two of her babies traveled out to Punchestown for the CCI** one ridden by Paul Tapner and the other ridden by Andrew Nicholson, they came 3rd and 4th.. these horses are owned by different owners and have lead different lives since leaving my friends small stud farm.. I feel that a few more than 9 words could have been used to mention their breading or their breeder...

And if anyone is interested.. only a week before Punchestown, another Stormhill horse was highly placed in a 1.30m class at Royal Winsor...

I saw that, typical for no credit to go to the breeder on what is a great achievement; I do feel for her; if H & H can't blow the trumpet for a small British breeder, what chance do we have?!.
Did she breed S Mink too, I remember seeing him as a youngster and he was truly scrumptious!?

Have just asked, and yes she did

maybe she's not as small as i thought haha.. where did you see that one??

First saw him as a two year old I think at a local show, in hand - he easily won the Championship, he was stunning, stuck in my mind; seem to remember (it's a good five years ago, must be) he's quite similar in type to Goshka Ringo but more quality. He stood at stud near Nantwich for some time and a friend had a couple by him which were very nice but don't know where he is now. I think he was by Lostock Blue or something.
She should be proud of him, he was a really nice sort.

I've just looked him up on the website, StormHill Stud
Stormhill Mink has been an outsatanding success amongst Coloured Horses, both in the Show-ring himself (including Stallion of the Year) and also as a sire, having sired Electric Storm, winner at the HOYS.

Have you written to the editor, a remember admin saying that although they sometimes read the comments on here they won't print anything unless it has been written/emailed to them.

Sounds like they have breed some fantastic horses.

Oh, I thought Paul Tapner's Stormhill horse was the most gorgeous little thing there - just beautiful. Off to look at the stud webbie now

I'm delighted to see the comments about Stormhill Stud horses. I did indeed breed them all. Stormhill Mink is by Stormhill Joseph, an irish coloured stallion, out of the TB mare Furtrader, by Import.
Sstormhill Michael is a full TB. I exported his sire Stormhill Miller to Ireland as a young colt. His dam, Sweet Sirenia was the foundation mare for my small stud and Stormhill Kossack is out of a daughter of hers, Stormhill Arrow, a TB. Michael and Kossack are thus closely related.
I also bred the successful N.H. horse Stormhill Stag out of the same mare. Stag won 9 races, I think.
Stormhill Storytime and Stormhill Barndance have been very successful show-jumping.
All this has been done with small numbers and on a budget.
Our stallion is Kremlin, a Latvian. He would be delighted to accept some more mares although he is getting on a little now.
It fantastic to see your positive comments and I shall read them out to Kremlin himself, who will be delighted!
for photos etc., see www.stormhillstud.com.

Could you point me to the stud Stormhill Miller stands at? He would be perfect for a friend's mare if he's anything like his son!

Just a note to say thankyou to Anne at the Stormhill stud and to all the fans of Mink for all the help, support and feedback, I will take the notes regarding the pics on the website and have a change around.
After Mink was sold as a 2 yr old he went to Julie Webb at Nantwich in Cheshire. Julie sold him after having used him for stud when he was 8 and he then fell into the dealer lines coming to yorkshire.
I saw Mink at a local show and fell in love straight away. I bought him in 2003 and am hopfully doing him justice as all his stock are (Electric Storm, Palamo Picasso, The Storm Dancer, The Storm Chaser) just to mention a few. We have all qualified for the RIHS again this year so are set to party there. Also there are alot of youngstock coming up so keep your eyes open. They have the Stormhill Mink stamp all over.

Does anyone know wher Stormhill Harvest is standing? he is Minks half brother, and I would love some pics and details

Stormhill Harvester is another one by Stormhill Joseph. He is out of another TB mare, Lucky Harvest , by Oats. He is no half-brother of Mink's, only by the same sire, not same dam-line.
He is in fact, a half-brother to Stormhill Miller, a TB who now stands in Ireland -same dam.
As far as I know, he is in Herefordshire somewhere, he went to a friend of mine as a foal and she sold him on.

Not that much like sire, carbon copy of TB dam, Sweet Sirenia, in fact. I have a colt by Kremlin, full brother to Kossack, who is out of the same dam. Interested?

Possibly - pm me details, please.

Oh, and congrats to the Irish Field who did manage to fit in a paragraph about your stud in their Punchestown reports!
