Theres a photo of a black horses leg with scarring from a bandage by the looks of things and a pic of a white horse, well if its an arab stallion sos my pony!

Really annoys me when National Papers print such a load of rubbish...

I heard the story ... I used to ride at the RAF Saddle Club right next to RAF Lossiemouth (where they fly Tornadoes), and the horses never batted an eyelid at the aircraft because they were so used to them!

About low flying generally - I'm sure horses can get acclimatised to it, but in east Kent we have only occasional sorties (oddly, it used to be about 3pm on a Friday afternoon). Last week we had the first one for ages - particularly low (probably less than 100ft, over houses!), luckily, only one of the horses in the lesson decanted it's rider.

I now living in a low flying area, around here it is mostly helicopters who even touch down in the arable fields around the house. Between those and the railway line next to the paddocks mine are pretty much spook proofed!

I treated myself to a ride on Bodmin moor when I was on holiday in September. As we cantered up a hill towards the huge mast two jets screamed over the top of us incredibly low. Did my horse bat an eyelid - hell no!

The woman who took me out said the RAF used the mast as a visual point to aim for and that it was unusual for them to be out at that particular time but the horses were used to it.

My mare will shy at a fluttering leaf but didn't bother about the Red Arrows going over her head at low altitude - funny buggers horses!

Thats what I thought and get your priorities right - saving lives or Afghanistan or a horse with a bandage / boot rub!!
Maybe she should have made a few more enquiries before she bought it then erected stables there.
