Interesting, certainly not a *day* out, but if you have never been then you should treat yourself to a wonder around to goggle at the vast area of fashion if nothing else
As well as being a horse sale it is traditionally a meeting point and effectively a marriage mart for the travelling community, so as well as some very nice horses, some very average ones and some grim looking youngsters there are significantly over made up and underdressed girls, in high heels not designed for tramping around a field, and muscly lads, prizefighter types if you like, who are out to impress. These are usually followed by a posse of younger lads and some older folk laying bets - you'll know the fighters, they have their shirts off!
