My Christmas present was BD affiliation which I haven't registered yet but now I have two options for transport and Gov is working regularly i'm considering it - we haven't been out since Aug '06.

My query is can we get away with going straight into Novice or do you think I should try on a ticket a few times, or just plain stick to Prelim?

Feel free to be honest if you think we'll make utter fools of ourselves. I have a few clinics (alongside normal lessons) lined up as i'm aware I have a lot to work on with myself.

if that were my horse i wud b straight in at novice, u may not get very high marks for some of the canter work ( cudnt see to much of vid as kept stopping) just need to come up from the shoulder a bit more for high marks i wud say, but cant see y u wudnt give novice a bash!!! what harm can it do?! seen much much worse doing ele!!!

You can go straight in & have a go at Novice, it's entirely up to you. It's dificult to assess from the video as it keeps stopping but some horses like a busier test, they seem to conscentrate more & go better. Your horse may prefer being busier than it would be in a prelim. Just have a go & see.

won;t hurt to have a go at a novice, if your marks are rubbish then obv reasses, but looking at the vid i think you'll do a very reasonable test, mind depends on whether your horse gets a bit worked up at comps or not, if so then perhaps do prelim first to settle back into the atmosphere
