Strained shoulder?

My TB has gone lame after bombing around his field this morning. It is in the off fore and there is no sign of heat or swelling. He is lame when this leg is on the outside of the circle and in a straight line the leg swings under the body rather than straight.
Does this sound like a shoulder strain or could it be just a twinge that will clear up quickly.
 
You need to get your vet out to check him over.

Lameness and muscle tension tends to show when turning to the opposite direction from the actual issue as the outside legs bear most of the weight of the horse when on a circle.

Once the vet has given an opinion as to soft tissue or underlying issues a session of sports massage treatments will do wonders if it is muscle related.

I note this post was from a few days ago, so I hope your horse is on the road to recovery.
