Well was mixed but overall good and she is improving

Walked the course this morning to decide whether to do it or not (more on ground than anything) and was pleasntly surprised that due to a good grass covering all but one field gave some decent give and the only field that was too hard had only one fence! Also as I finished walking it Mary King pulled in with her huge lorry so if she thought the going was ok thought I should get my arse in gear and do it

got there and they were just about to finish the novice 2ft6 i wanted to do so got ready in double quick time and snuck in last to go after a quick workin. Did the timed section no issues which was very twisty in first field then you were meant to jump up a step then straight off out of field, but Fleur dug her heels in not wanting to leave the other horses. After about a minute she gave in and jumped. Did same again two fences later at some barrels then a bit at the steps down as well. oww yeah and the stream crossing that wasn't even a fence was petrifying as well lol

because she was sticky i decided to go again round the 2ft6 open. although stopped at bank again she went almost straight away and then flew round the course including down the extra step! Think eliminated myself by jumping one of the 2ft9 fences and another one which might have been in the 2ft3 because there were people standing infront of what I thought was the 2ft6 fence and as had had the stop wasn't going to win so just jumped what they weren't standing in front!

Pleased with her even if the first round was sticky. Bought a pro pic which I will scan in later but will go and sort out pics my mum took and get them in the gallery as well

Oh well done, so she is getting the hang of XC.

PS you might want to edit your last paragraph - been a bit of a clampdown

can't edit now

going to try and get jpg file from photographer and will double check he ok for me to post with credits (his staff were a bit clueless) which was what I was going to do! for now will give you all my mums pics as definetly allowed to post them *trundles off to post them in gallery*

Well done! Big pats for both of you. Should imagine she's the kind of horse who would benefit immensly from going round the same course twice in quick succession. Never heard of the place - is it new?

not new apparently (though never been) but doesn't run BE! its actually only a mile up the road from Susie's place, about 300yards on right hand side on the ottery road from the roundabout

Had some nice larger fences for the 3ft3 but others were a bit questionnable in design!

well I think i was technically eliminated both times so you couldn't have done 'too' much worse! Didn't like a few of the open fences though, some were lovely some were odd. The thin telegraph pole tied on top of that log before the water was just asking to cause some falls I thought.
