strange ad wanting free broodmares

I saw a strange ad wanting free /cheap KWPN/TB/warmblood broodmares for a new stud farm.
Seems a bit odd - i know there will be plenty good mares that have been retired from competition - but it still seems an odd advert. Any ideas as to whether it is legit or if not what they might want the mares for ?

Breeding? Embryo transfer carrier mares? Either would make sense if it's a stud. Phone them and ask!

Cheap foals out of free broodmares... I have heard of a couple of unsavoury characters who do this.
