Out hunting yesterday a hound while running with the others suddenly dropped to the floor and was rolling about, waving his legs. When we got to him he got up and started to gallop in about 10m circles left handed. We called him and called him and after a couple of minutes he stopped and came to us. We kept hold of him for a while and he appeared fine, breathing returned to normal, eyes were bright and gums were normal. We let him go and he ran with the others fine and was fine for the rest of the day.
Any ideas what could of happened?
We've had thoughts along the lines of swallowing his tongue, fitting (not sure of the cause), brain tumor or a bang to the head.

Could he have trapped something in his back? Could have been a fit also. Was he drinking out of your dog's waterbowl?

PMSL, I hope not. Not unless she has been having parties while we are asleep!

Could be something in his back. He didn't trip he just sort of fell over to the right hand side.
