strange behaviour when pooing!

I just wondered whether anyone had a similar experience with their dog when they poo? Alfie will not poo on the floor and will only poop on something higher than the ground. i.e a large stump of grass, on top of a bush or he back right upto walls and does it down the wall

He actually lifts his bottom up to reach

and it makes it really hard to poop pick when its dangling off a plant or down a wall??

Anyone elses dog do this? Any ideas why the hell he does this??

I used to walk a dog like that, he used to reverse up into hedgesand banks. No idea why!

Abe does it.

I just pull him away and don't let him.

Tink does this. She went through a phase of having to be pressed right up against a wall or whatever

which was horrid. I also just tug her away and she's more or less stopped it now.

Scent/territory marking?...............foxes often do the same thing - I guess post it high and the news travels further!!

Yep my boy does it all the time. Really strange. Think it is territorial.
