Hi, I just wondered if anyone could help me. I have a 10year old mare, who is slightly lame. You trot her up on hard and the first few strides she is sound, then does about 2/3 lame strides (1/10th ish on LF) then goes sound again. Sound on a tight circle both reins. She has done this once before in the winter, vet looked at everything and found nothing so told me to continue riding her and she was fine. Now when i ride her she is totally sound even after hard work and doesnt even start off slightly short. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of things like this. She has not heat, swelling or raised pulse. The only thing we think it could be was some old mud fever cracks that are slight proud flesh which split slightly, she is a bit of a wimp!

Any ideas?!
