Strange lump, anyone know anything?

Indie my recently rescued elderly lurcher has a lump on the inside of her back leg, in amongst the 2 large defined long muscles. It was the size of half a boiled egg cut longways. The vet suggested a biopsy which came back with the result that it wasn't neoplasia (is that the right word ie cancer?) but was damaged muscle tissue that was trying to repair and regenerate and to treat it with antibiotics in case of infection and Metacam for inflamation and to go back for another biopsy in 3 weeks if there was no improvement. Well the 3 weeks is nearly up and the lump has got bigger if anything. I don't want another biopsy done, apart from the fact that it was £214, as I can't see the point. Should I have it removed althogether now or give it more time? I've never heard of this before. Has anyone else? Will it just keep growing?

I would see what the vet says, wondering if taking it away would create more damage? If not then I would get is lopped off as it should then be able to be biopsied.

one of my elderly dogs recently had a lump. she had it on her back leg it started small then over 6 months it grew but never bothered her. not one bit bless her! then recently it got bigger and sore and she started to be in pain. our excellent vet said it was just an abnormal growth and she should be fine once it was removed around £100 and a afternoon on the operating table she came home with the leg stitched and lots of antibiotics 4 weeks today and shes pefectly fine stitches out and fur growning back!
shes gone from being 12 to 5 years old shes so hyper now we have our old girl back!!

i would ask another vet or risk getting it removed if you think its right, but it's only you who can make that decision in my opinion!

Yeah I know, I'd just never heard of muscle tissue repairing /regenerating itself and causing a lump so wondered if anyone had any experience of it but seems not! I'll leave it until it causes her a problem then have it taken off.

God my old labrador is covered in weird lumps. Prob nothing like yours, anyway vet says they are fatty lipomas, egg shaped and I can wiggle them about, not fixed to bone etc. They grow slowly but do grow. One or two are like tennis balls, start like pea sized. One on the inside of the back leg was removed as it got so big and unsightly. Dog still going strong though!!
