So my cob has developed a medium size lump in her knee area . Vet looked at it today and felt it was to do with the skin rather than the bone as she is not Lame and had no pain on flexion .
He suggested cold hosing for a week then MRI if no improvement.
Has anyone else had this ?
Any thoughts? She is 18 and hasn’t been kicked as on individual turnout for a fortnight before

I had a mare who smacked her knee on a jump which came up in a fluid filled lump that never went away. She passed a sales vetting with it. I'm a bit puzzled why anyone would suggest an MRI of a painless lump on a sound horse?

Could she have just bashed her knee on a water trough or something? Jumping to an MRI within a week on a horse that isn’t lame seems a bit extreme but I’m no vet. As long as horse doesn’t go lame I’d be tempted to give it time and see if it goes down on its own
