Hi All,
Ive posted before regarding my 19 year old ex racer who hasn't really been sound for the past 12 months.
I am beside myself with some of the vets I Have seen and after nearly bankrupting myself with scan after scan I have decided to stop treating, turn away and medicate for his comfort. He is happy, looks fantastic and stuffing his face in the paddock as I write.
2 weeks ago I had yet another Vet look at him and that morning I noticed an egg shaped lump right on his front of the injured leg. Its not bony and moves, no heat in it etc.
The new vet said it was an old injury and didn't seem to click that it wasn't their the day before and Ive had the horse for 7 years. He said it was nothing to worry about.
Yesterday on checking him first thing I noticed the lump had got a black split horizontally right across and was a bit wet. I immediately thought it was a bramble thorn or something and had a good squeeze and poke around but nothing. No smell. No pus
Vet is coming out tomorrow to look but I would be grateful if anyone had any thoughts.
Thanks as always xxx
