Strange mark found on horse?

My friends got her horse out the field this morning and he's got what looks like a burn? There's 10 other horses out with him and there all fine?? Has anyone any idea what could have caused it??

It's not a rope burn from the electric fence is it? Mine had similar when she got caught in it. Not from the electric, just a rope burn from the tape.

It's not a burn there's no hair damage .

Typical size, shape and appearance of a kick, look at the curved shape, it might match someone else's toe!

On the shoulder could also be an accidental bash on a fence post or similar.

Whatever, it's nothing to worry about, it's just a small superficial graze. I would clean it and then leave it alone.

It's not that brown colour by the way that's cream the owner put on it had no colour and no si

Yes it looks like a kick to me but you can never be sure what they have been up to .

Yes.

It's a defense mechanism by the horse to shed hair instead of breaking the skin, you'll see it often if you are around horses a lot.

Seen many of these in my day. Usually the horse has tried to go through the hedge or squeezed through the doors (i have sliding doors) they can be a little sensitive but usually no last harm

kick mark.. my mare gets these all the time.. usually about 3 inches long and half an inch wide.. hair gone completely from them in a strip.

Yes it would. Agree with others looks like a kick to me. In a day or two you may feel slight lumpiness in that area as well.
