This might be a bit of a strange one!
Has anyone who has a Rambo with the liner system rub and blister the skin where the metal liner attachments sit?

Hes been wearing the rug all winter but with liners in so the metal isn’t sitting on his skin - and literally within 3 days with no liner the hair has been rubbed out and the skin has blistered!! He is super unhappy about anything going near where the rubs are - luckily it’s warm enough now he can be naked!
I’m hoping it’s partly a coat change thing as I love the rug

No, our New Zealand Rambos have the metal clips and are pretty much always without the liner, as I have a 200 and 400 so just use the appropriate one. I wonder if the metal surface (plating) has worn off to reveal something more sinister beneath (metal wise).

I would suspect it is an allergy to the under-metal.

I wonder if you could make a little sleeve for them, when you aren't using a liner?

Paint them with a few layers of nail varnish, and that will seal anything in the metal he might be reacting to. Then if it is that you can look to make a little cover for them as Red suggests

Yes! But I can beat you in weirdness ?
Horse has had Rambo rugs and other Horseware with liners before. Bought a new one, he had what looked like burns where the loops were within a few days ?‍♀️
Really sore, I felt awful.

Gosh, I wonder if OP's rug is a new one too? I wonder if they changed the metal?

I would let them know.

I just didn’t think of it at the time, I figured for some reason it has just rubbed really really badly. I took it straight to the rug place by me and had the rings removed. It was only reading this that made me think anything of it, I do remember being shocked at how quickly and badly they rubbed.
