I've just had this e-mailed to me in response to my advert for my horse, what do you think??! I replied to an original e-mail just asking if he was still for sale, to which I replied "yes I still have him".

Deal or no deal??!

Thanks for the email, do let me know how much you are willing to sell
to me and you need to assure that he is in perfect condition and i
would love to see any pictures if you have. I will be paying with my
paypal account which is the safest online payment mode. So please do
reply me asap with your paypal account or send me a payment request
from your paypal account so i can effect payment to you rightaway. You
can easily open an account with paypal if you don't have one at
www.paypal.co.uk. its safe, simple and reliable also do get back to me
so we can arrange for pick up as i will like it to be picked by my
pick up agent, so no shipping included. I await your reply. Hope to
hear from you soon.

:confused::confused:

No...get on your horse and gallop for the hills! Even if it's a one legged, blind, deaf, arthritic miniature Falabella.

Definitely avoid!

Yeah these are quite common with whatever you are trying to sell, they are blatant scam mails essentially trying to get money off you as they will generally send you over payment or something and ask for the difference back but their 'payment' will bounce so you will beleft out of pocket. Think that's the general scheme anyway.

They are pretty much always written in poor English and don't actually specify the 'item' you're selling so it's all very generic. I would ignore it. If they are a genuine buyer (which i seriously doubt) then wouldn't you want them to come see your horse and wouldn't you want to know where your horse is going anyway?

I had one of these emails when I was selling my mums horse, and I replied. I put -

"Thank you for your response. However, my horse is a 'he', not an 'it' or an 'item'. How stupid do you think I am?"

Lol

Had something similar when enquiring about a equi trek on ebay.

All bad english and asking for my money and paypal account details....

Its scary I was watching a program the other night on fraud in the UK with credit cards, think it was on bbc? It is just frightening and mostly Romanian and polish (that is what the programme said), but they can get so much money from you.

The new cards, the ones where you dont need to put your pin in to pay you just swipe a chip. Faudsters have now developed a machine that they carry round with them that can wirelessly scan your card and steal all the details from it without you even getting it out your purse. The only way to stop them is to wrap your card in foil... I now have funny looks as I unwrap my debit card from foil.. bit like people who walk around with foil on their head to stop aliens intercepting their thoughts!! :p

Dear buyer
I can assure you your horse is in tiptop condition. Please send me a picture of his stables in order that I can dye his coat and tack to match your surroundings. One thing I must add is that he only has three legs, however, I hear you can buy prosthetic legs quite easily from ebay. Do let me know if you would like me to order one for you, however, you must stipulate whether you would like a brick manufactured leg or whether you would like one made entirely of wood. The wood based are cheaper, obviously, but may come with woodworm. I would be quite happy to purchase the additional wormer for you and bill you for this. If however, you would like to purchase the sturdier leg, please would you let me know if you would like sealant on the aforementioned brickbased limb (although, again, there may be an additional charge for this). I can also send you a paperbased stable neatly folded and easily origamied together with the easy to read instructions in five hundred volumes, although naturally, this only arrives in the easily translateable ancient hebrew. I look forward to hearing from you.

I remember seeing a bloke on TV who decided to try & wind up scammers like this to see how far they would go. He literally had the scammers emailing pictures of themselves holding fish....it was totally brilliant.

Oh and there was that one that had the scammers holding up signs saying rude things about themselves, that was hilarious :D

And Nigeria. Apparently, right, apparently :D Im closely related to the Nigerian Royal family. Of course I always suspected I was really a Princess and the wrong parents had taken me home so it wasnt too much of a surprise.
