My young connemara has small pustules/scabs that come off easily on her legs and on her face, mostly her muzzle. They started about a week ago. On her nose she now has a group of them and a slight swelling underneath but the others just fall off and leave nothing to see. Neither of my other horses have them but then they are on a different bit of grass. I showed the lumps to the vet when she came for jabs a few days ago, but she didn't know what they were. Any thoughts anyone please?

Did the vet not discuss taking some form of skin sample? It could be a reaction to something (buttercups or clover in your part of the field?), but we've had horses bring skin infections onto the yard in the past so I get a bit paranoid when I see scabby stuff.
