Anyone help?

I took my greyhound to the vets yesterday as she has a sore rash (possibly bacterial) between her hind legs. He has given me a multitude of shampoos tablets & cream to resolve this.

She also has a thickening skin lesion on her chest which the vet isn't sure what it is. When you gentlly squeeze the skin, soft black 'goo' comes out of the pores like a blackhead. Has anyone come across anything similar? The vet has suggested I use the steroid cream on it whilst treating the other sore patch to see if it improves, otherwise they will have to take a sample to send off to be analysised.

I'm not sure how long she has had the latter complaint as we only adopted her 7 weeks ago. Any advice appreciated.

My last greyhound (shown in my avatar

) had a rash very similar to the one you described, I just put Sudocreme on the spots and they went away

In fact now I think about it she had a rash on a couple of occasions, and each time Sudocreme cured it.

As far as the black lesion is concerned I am afraid none of mine have ever had anything like that, although my smooth haired lurcher has two black skin tags which started out like that - I never worried about them, and they have never bothered him

Try bathing the spots with warm salt water, it will ooze them out. I'm a big fan of Bob Grass for any skin conditions it's amazing stuff.
