On Saturday I fetched my mare in and left her in the stable wearing her M/W turnout. I got sidetracked doing something else, and went back to give her her tea, and found her soaking wet on her neck and chest. Feeling incredibly guilty for not changing her rug sooner I whipped it off, only to find her bone dry and shiny underneath.
She was bright and cheerful, eating her hay and looking forward to her tea. She'd had a good long drink, which is only to be expected, but was perfectly normal, not panting or anything.
Is she just a weirdo, or could the rug she was wearing be great quality and wicked all the sweat off her body (it was bought second hand needing patching for £3 from an equine car boot and is unbranded)?
